The Alliance for Democracy participated in United for Peace and Justice's April 29 March for Peace, Justice and Democracy in New York City. AfD co-chair Nancy Price organized the Democracy Tent, one of more than a 20 tents at the post-march festival, where marchers could meet with activists and find out more about issues.

Many marchers made an immediate connection with the concept of weaving a common wealth--several were interested in presenting the workshop in their own communities.
